Water content varies widely depending on tissue type and physiological state. Adipose tissue ranges from 18 to 32% water in, muscle is relatively stable at about 75% water, the average for brain tissue is about 78% and for bone, it is about 10%.

By weight, the average human adult male is approximately 60-70% water.
